I. Professional and Scientific Criteria

The peer-review process for research published in the Tafani Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences (TJHSS) is conducted by a panel of experts and specialists in the relevant field. The journal employs strict criteria in selecting its reviewers to ensure the quality and objectivity of the review process:

  1. Integrity and Objectivity: Reviewers must adhere to the highest ethical standards, including objectivity, honesty, and transparency in their evaluations.

  2. Timeliness: Reviewers must be able to submit their review reports within the specified timeframe set by the journal.

  3. Academic Expertise:

    • Hold a minimum academic rank of Assistant Professor (or equivalent).

    • Possess specialized expertise in the precise field of the submitted manuscript.

  4. Review Experience: Have prior experience reviewing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals (at least five reviewed manuscripts as a reviewer).

  5. Analytical and Critical Skills: Ability to provide constructive feedback and precise scientific critique that contributes to the development of the research.

  6. Adherence to Journal Policies: Thorough familiarity with the journal’s scientific review guidelines, publication standards, and confidentiality policies.

II. Sources for Reviewer Selection

  1. Journal’s Approved Reviewer Database: The journal maintains a database of registered, specialized reviewers across various disciplines.

  2. Partnership with Academic Institutions: The journal may utilize reviewer lists from trusted research institutions, such as the Libyan Association for E-Learning and Education, or other reputable universities and research centers.

  3. Rights and Services for Reviewers:

    • Approved reviewers are entitled to participate in reviewing manuscripts within their areas of expertise.

    • The journal provides official review certificates to contributing reviewers.

  4. Communication Channels: Reviewers are contacted via the journal’s official email or through specialized academic platforms.

III. Requirements for Joining the Reviewer Panel

To register as a reviewer in the journal’s database, researchers must submit the following documents:

  1. Updated and Verified Academic Curriculum Vitae (CV).

  2. Links to Academic Profiles (if available), such as:

    • Google Scholar

    • ResearchGate

    • ORCID

    • Scopus Author ID

  3. Official Documents:

    • Copy of the highest academic degree (Ph.D. or equivalent).

    • Proof of prior reviewing experience (if applicable).

  4. Membership Application Form: Available for completion on the journal’s website.

IV. Mechanisms for Reviewer Performance Evaluation

The journal periodically monitors and evaluates reviewer performance based on:
