Conflict of Interest Policy
Tafani Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences
Tafani Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences is committed to the highest standards of integrity and transparency. Disclosure of any potential conflict of interest is a fundamental pillar to ensure the credibility of published research. This policy requires (authors, reviewers, and editorial board members) to disclose any relationships or interests that may influence the objectivity of evaluation or editorial decisions.
First: Forms of Conflict of Interest
-
Financial Interests: Such as receiving funding, grants, or consultancy fees from entities with a direct interest in the research outcomes.
-
Personal Relationships: The existence of kinship, enmity, or close friendship between researchers and reviewers or editors.
-
Institutional Affiliations: Employment at an institution whose reputation or financial standing may be affected by the research results.
-
Academic Interests: Direct academic competition or previous collaboration that may compromise the neutrality of the evaluation.
Second: Responsibilities
-
Authors: Must include a clear statement at the end of the research under the heading "Conflict of Interest Statement." In the absence of any conflict, the researcher should state: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."
-
Reviewers: The reviewer is obligated to immediately decline to review if they identify any conflict that prevents them from providing an impartial assessment.
-
Editorial Board: Board members are committed to complete neutrality. Any member must be excluded from making decisions regarding a manuscript in which they have a personal or institutional interest.
Third: Procedures
Failure to disclose a conflict of interest may lead to the rejection of the manuscript, or its retraction if discovered after publication, along with taking necessary measures to ensure academic integrity.
