It highlights the importance of secondary education as a key link between the early stages of education and higher education, and its role in the success of development as it represents one of the most important foundations required for sustainable development. The study results show a lack of resources in secondary educational institutions, a low level of awareness among teachers, students, and learners about the importance of sustainable development, and a shortage of educational institutions in the study area. In general, there is a lack of services, educational tools, scientific laboratories, and modern teaching methods due to the current conditions affecting the education sector, which constitutes an obstacle to achieving real sustainable development. Therefore, the study emphasizes the need to give greater attention to education and sustainable development, identify the main problems and obstacles that hinder the development of education and the sustainability of development, and propose appropriate solutions based on the study findings in order to achieve sustainable development that positively affects the educational level and society as a whole.
